It all starts in a garageNovember 9, 1989: While the nation celebrates, Rudi Sprügel founds JAKO Sportartikelvertriebs GmbH. The goal: To quickly supply clubs in Hohenlohe with sportswear. The name: JAKO – inspired by the rivers Jagst and Kocher. Location: His brother's garage in Stachenhausen.

Cottbus Fussballspieler
With Energie Cottbus in the DFB Cup final!The first JAKO professional team makes big headlines! As a regional league team, Energie Cottbus sensationally reaches the DFB Cup final against VfB Stuttgart. Cottbus loses 0-2. Nevertheless, their place in the JAKO history books is secured.
